Is your couch falling apart? Have you recently replaced your refrigerator? Bought new tires to prepare for winter weather? What do you do with the old stuff? Kick it to the curb. The City’s Solid Waste Department offers free Tyler bulky item pickup next week. That’s right. No fuss. No muss. And no added fee to get rid of your bulky junk.
Free Tyler Bulky Item Pickup
Spring cleaning doesn’t necessarily have to only take place in the spring. If you’ve recently remodeled or upgraded your appliances to energy-saving models, you need to get rid of your old things. Not up to snuff for donation? Don’t feel like dragging them off to the dump? Set them out at the curb in front of your home next week for the free Tyler bulky item pickup event. Beginning on Monday, October 2nd, the Solid Waste Department takes to the streets in search of all the stuff that isn’t normally picked up during your weekly curbside service.
In addition to furniture and appliances, the City will pick up carpet, car tires (no more than four), fencing, broken bikes, etc. Get rid of old paint at that time, too. Just make sure it has been dried out with kitty litter or oil dry first. No liquids, tree limbs or bush trimmings allowed. You don’t have to call for a special pickup either. The trucks will be around some time during the week. Please keep in mind that this is separate from your weekly pickup. To be sure that your house doesn’t get missed for the free Tyler bulky item pickup event, set your things at the curb by Monday morning (October 2nd).
Missed the Free Pickup Event?
Didn’t make it in time for the free Tyler bulky item pickup? That’s OK. You can still drop these things off at the city’s recycling center (418 N Bois D’Arc) for free. They’re open 7:15 am to 5:30 pm Mondays through Fridays and 8 am to 2 pm on Saturdays. You will need to present a current water bill (dated within the last 45 days) and a current photo ID. Contact them at (903) 531-1388 to find out what items they accept at their facility.
